I miss Anthrocon. Someone make it come back like... now.

Well, it seems that as soon as I get on my feet, I get knocked back off them again. My fiancee had to resign from his job with the Department of Transportation, which means that I am, once again, the chief breadmaker. And with NYS owing us craploads of money in pay and gas reimbursement checks that we are starting to wonder if we will ever see, well, that's not going well.

In the past month, I put at least $40 in my fiancee's tank every weekday and Saturday. That means, for July, I put at least $960 in gas in his tank for him to get to work. It was usually much, much more than that, especially when they had him travelling to jobs two to three hours away, and then driving all over the job site. I also purchased roughly $300 in groceries, paid $370 in rent, and choked out $140 in various other bills.

Ow.

Right now I am working on multiple projects: A toony silver fox, a blue dragon, and a toony lioness, all three of them commissions. Unfortunately, two of them are already paid for... well, fortunately because it let me live before this date, but unfortunately because it is something that is in that whole "OMG" place. And no, that is not my full commission list. I have at least one more definite commission.

I am also working on another realistic wolf; this one will be up for auction, but it is a side project, so no saying when it will be finished up. It will be a partial, and, as usual, I will post it here, as well as a link to its auction. It will likely be a partial.

Tomorrow I will be checking e-mails and asking some people if they are still interested in their commissions, people of the sort who go "OKAY!" and then drop off the face of the planet.

This reminds me: If you get a quote from me, and you decide you don't want it for WHATEVER reason, then please, TELL ME. When you go "OK, I will have the deposit for you in the mail or in a week or WHATEVER," it makes me go great, sounds good. Then, to manage my time, any quote that goes out AFTER you factors in your commission... which I wait two to three weeks to get back in touch with you on. And if you decide to cancel but don't tell me, it really throws a lot of things off. So please, PLEASE, I don't care what the reason is, just e-mail me and tell me that you don't want the commission. Believe me, you will hurt me less by saying that you don't want it then just disappearing... because when you disappear, and I think you are just saving money for a couple of weeks, it makes it difficult for me to take in other commissions. Also its always nice just to be able to go Oh, okay, cool, well. I guess I can chill, or play a game for a bit, because I don't have this to do. Plus it costs me more time to send that e-mail asking you if you still want it.

Annywaays. In funny news. I went to Wal Mart in suit today (I was bored and apparently felt like risking heat stroke to see some people smile.) I ended up getting yanked into the photo studio, where some giggling girls took some random photos of me. Some of them are REALLY fucking cool, so I ordered some of them in. When I get them in about, oh, two friggin weeks, I will scan them in and post them here. A spoiler: two of them were taken in a special manner that, oddly enough, makes Valdyr look like a real, feral wolf laying there. It's pretty sweet. And there will be a goofy image to laugh at, as well.

Anyways, its 4 AM, and I need to pack up my glueguns and go to bed. I didn't get as much as I had wanted to done tonight, but tomorrow's another day, and I am helping no one if I go off and massively injure myself again.

Take care, everyone; best wishes.

Valdyr

PS: An extra thanks to all the new watchers I have gotten, and to all of you faving my work :D It means a lot. I am glad you all liked Valdyr, for the quick throw-together project that she was.

Do you like pissing and shitting? XD
I can only imagine what that feels like. I am soooo anticipating FC and I know the weekend will fly by when it's finally arrives. I am adding more to my dance costume...I swear, by the time I am finished, it will feel more like a suit of armor.

Just an aside here. Currently, many canadian businesses are importing workers from Mexico to fill the demands of our very thin labor force. There is talk of soliciting the american trades people to fill these positions as well.
Just a thought.
Btw, if you have any pics of AC, I'd love to see them.

Yeah, but how much are they getting paid? Common wage, or less?
It depends on the line of work. Here are some links to our local job banks.

Personally, I run heavy equipment at $25/hr...with overtime I take home about $4500 - $4800/mth and I'm not even at the top of my pay scale yet. Potentially, I can get to $29 - $30/hr with benefits. Most companies offer benefits, retention and sign-on bonuses.

Our Illegal Immigrants are paid like... groceries and the ability to live in some terrible shack with 3+ other people, plus the ability to call home (to Mexico/Cuba/Wherever) if they are lucky.
No no no.....it's nothing like that. In fact I have never heard of such a thing.
That aside, I hope he finds something decent soon.
